A Different Kind of Fairytale✨

The Archbishop Carroll Theater society joins us this fall to tell the epic stories of several fairy tales all rolled up into one with its production of "Into the Woods." In "Into the Woods," many well-known fairytales coincide including the story of Little Red Riding Hood (Portrayed by Molly Dorsey, Class of 2018), Cinderella ( Julia Straface, Class of 2019), Rapunzel (Caroline Dempsey, Class of 2018), and Jack and the Beanstalk (Alex Brown, Class of 2019). We are also introduced to the story of two new characters, the Baker (Michael Conwell, Class of 2017) and his wife (Nina Straface, Class of Class of 2017.) This Baker and his Wife are desperate to have a child, but cannot due to a wicked curse.

One fateful day, a witch (Samantha DiCarlo, Class of 2017) appears to the Baker and his Wife, offering a solution. If they can secure a cow as white as milk, hair as yellow as corn, a cape as red as blood, and a shoe as pure as gold, all in 3 days, the witch will present them with the child of their dreams. The Baker and his Wife venture into the woods “though it's distant, though it’s deep, though it's dark, and though they may lose the path”.

The path of this couple then collides in the forest with that of Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack, and Little Red, as everyone turns to “the woods” to make their wishes come true. If your wish is witness a production of magic and adventure, then this will come true with ACTS's "Into the Woods."
