Hurricane Relief Drive

Everyone has heard about the devastating hurricanes that have hit our nation. Hurricane Harvey was first, then Irma. These disasters have left tragedy and ruin in their wake. Neighborhoods, homes, and lives have been destroyed. The people living in these areas have lost everything and are without basic necessities. As the new school year approached, Mary Clare Boyle, a student at Archbishop Carroll, read in an article that schools needed supplies. She then had the idea to have a collection for the victims Carroll and went directly to the Community Service Corps. (CSC) moderator, Mrs. Cynthia Honyara.

Collections began on the first week of school and students became extremely active in terms of donations. Every homeroom participated and CSC received several boxes filled with supplies. Items ranging from two-inch binders to chalk and truly, everything in between, were collected. Nobody could have predicted the massive, positive response that the Carroll community would have to the devastation, but it does not go unnoticed. All of the donations collected by Archbishop Carroll will be sent to hurricane victims and will surely help them to heal after facing disaster.
