Au Revoir Réformes, Bonjour Victoire
Jeudi, en France, des réformes au loi du travail ont mis les jeunes en colère. Ces réformes donnent des avantages aux personnes âgées mais limitent les possibilités d'emploi aux étudiants et aux jeunes gens. Donc, ceux-là ont décidé de protester. Au début, les manifestations ont été pacifiques. Les employés ont arrêté leur boulot et au moins 200 lycées ont été fermés. Bientôt les protestes sont devenues des émeutes et les jeunes ont commencé á sauter sur les voitures et á jeter des débris á la police. Le problème c'est que maintenant les jeunes pensent qu'ils étudient pour rien. D'après la nouvelle réforme, ce sera encore plus difficile pour les jeunes de trouver du travail. Les manifestations continueront si des changements n'y sont pas faits.
Du côté sports, les nouvelles sont plus ravissantes. Les Bleus sont retournés au Stade de France pour jouer le premier match depuis les attaques terroristes de Paris. L'équipe de football français á gagné son match contre la Russie, 4 à 2. Cette victoire n'a pas été la seule raison pour célébrer C'était aussi l'anniversaire de deux joueurs, N'Golo Kanté et Dimitri Payet qui ont reçu un beau gâteau après le jeu.

This past Thursday, France and her president François Hollande experienced some public outcry in response to the most recent labor reforms. The reforms were set up in order to lower the jobless rate. By doing this, older workers would gain benefits while younger workers and students would be limited to the jobs available to them. These socalled “reforms” were protested against. The protests began peacefully with workers going on strike and approximately 200 school closings; however, these protests quickly got out of hand and turned into riots. Students were seen jumping on cars and throwing hard objects at police officers who used teargas to stop the violence. These young people are concerned because, in their minds, they are attending school for nothing, since they will be unable to obtain a job anyway. They say that there will be more protests in the future if things do not change.
In brighter news, France’s soccer team, Les Bleus, has returned to their national stadium for the first time since the attacks on Paris last November. The team played their first game against Russia on March 29th. Surely an emotional day, the team came out victorious, scoring a 4-2 win against their competitor. However, this victory wasn’t the only thing worth celebrating: two of the players were celebrating their birthdays that same day. N’Golo Kanté and Dmitri Payet were rewarded with a beautiful birthday cake after the triumphant game.
